Offshore fishing along Alabama’s Gulf Coast is delivering excellent results this season, with a variety of saltwater species actively feeding in deeper waters. Anglers are finding success targeting game fish from just a few miles out to the continental shelf.

Current Conditions:
Water temperatures offshore have risen to the low to mid-70s, creating prime conditions for species like red snapper, grouper, amberjack, and king mackerel. Calm seas and clear skies are making for smooth trips and productive days on the water.

Hot Species:

Red Snapper: Season is open with strong bites near artificial reefs and natural ledges at 60-100 feet depth.

Grouper: Look for gag and red grouper around rocky bottoms and wrecks.

Amberjack: Aggressive fighters found near reefs and wrecks, especially around deep structures.

King Mackerel: Fast, exciting action trolling or casting near surface schools.
