Your Kayak Fishing Guides in the Florida Panhandle
Your Trusted Kayak Fishing Guides
Tactical Tide Kayak Guide was founded by Brad Greer and Josh Reynolds, two retired U.S. Army helicopter pilots and lifelong anglers who share a passion for kayak fishing and getting people on the water. Serving the Florida Panhandle, Tactical Tide focuses on inshore and nearshore kayak fishing experiences built around learning, confidence, and community.
Brad and Josh’s friendship began in an unexpected way. Though now neighbors, they first met at a kayak launch in Navarre while chasing blackfin tuna. After fishing together, it became clear they shared the same outlook: keep it simple, help people learn, and enjoy the day. Tactical Tide grew naturally from that connection.
Both guides bring well-rounded fishing backgrounds to the business. Brad is Alabama-raised and has spent years fishing offshore from a kayak throughout the Gulf. Josh was born and raised in South Texas, growing up fishing both freshwater and saltwater. He specializes in largemouth bass, redfish, speckled trout, and flounder, with a strong preference for inshore bay fishing. Josh also previously owned and operated an offshore fishing boat and found the most satisfaction in helping friends land their first offshore fish or the fish of a lifetime.
At its core, Tactical Tide exists to grow the kayak fishing community. Brad and Josh want every trip to go beyond just catching fish; they aim to give anglers the knowledge and confidence to eventually buy their own kayak and gear. Their long-term goal is to turn clients into independent anglers, and future fishing partners.
Tactical Tide offers hands-on, instructional trips targeting inshore species like redfish and speckled trout, as well as nearshore Gulf species such as king mackerel, red snapper, and other hard-fighting fish. Offshore trips are primarily run out of Navarre, while inshore trips are commonly based around Panama City. Most fishing takes place in the Florida Panhandle and the Gulf, with Alabama trips focused mainly on freshwater due to proximity.
All trips are run using Hobie Outback pedal-drive kayaks, chosen for their stability, comfort, and hands-free control. Each kayak is fully outfitted with quality rods, reels, bait systems, and safety equipment, allowing anglers to fish efficiently in shallow water or access offshore structure larger boats can’t reach.
The Tactical Tide experience is intentionally different from traditional charters. From the moment the kayak hits the water, everyone is actively fishing,no long boat rides, no spectators. Fighting fish from just inches above the surface creates an up-close, unforgettable experience.
Built on friendship, patience, and a genuine love for fishing, Tactical Tide Kayak Guide is about creating anglers, not just clients, and building a kayak fishing community that lasts long after the trip ends.
