Do I Need a Fishing License in Alabama?

Yes, a valid Alabama saltwater or freshwater fishing license is required for most anglers ages 16 to 64. Since Tactical Tide focuses primarily on inshore and offshore saltwater fishing, you’ll want to obtain a Saltwater Fishing License if you’re fishing along the coast, bays, or Gulf of Mexico.

Out-of-state visitors also need a license, but the process is quick and simple, and short-term options are available.

Which License Should I Get?

For Out-of-State Anglers (Non-Residents):

7-Day Saltwater Trip License: Ideal for vacationers and short trips.

Annual Saltwater License: If you plan to visit Alabama multiple times a year.

For Alabama Residents:

Annual Saltwater Fishing License is the most common and affordable option.
